| Mikhail Steinberg (1867 - )  Russie Mikhail Karlovich Steinberg ( 2 June 1867 , Slobodskoy , Vyatka province - unknown ) - Russian amateur composer, poet and arranger, author of music and poetry of more than three hundred popular songs and “gypsy” romances of the early 20th century, the most famous of which became “ Guy-da troika!” Fluffy snow... " Steinberg's songs were performed by dozens of vocalists, among whom, first of all, are Nadezhda Plevitskaya , Anastasia Vyaltseva , Nina Dulkevich , Yuri Morfessi , Alexander Davydov , Mikhail Vavich and many others. Since the first years of the 20th century, dozens of records with Steinberg's romances have been released, primarily in the interpretation of Raisa Raisova and Natalya Tamara . Some songs by Mikhail Steinberg (in particular, those listed above) are still popular with the public and are in demand among modern pop and romance performers.
At the same time, this author is almost unknown today. His name is strangely absent from musical and even pop encyclopedias, his biography consists entirely of blank spots, and romances are often mistakenly attributed to his namesake and younger contemporary, by coincidence, an academic composer and teacher with similar initials M.O. Steinberg .
